Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information our mobile applications collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or delete it.
1. Who we are
The apps are developed and published by an individual developer, Sk Mudassir (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are an individual developer and not a registered company, and we are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
Contact for any privacy question or request: skmudassir.it@gmail.com. Postal contact details are available on request.
2. Which apps this policy covers
This policy applies to the mobile applications we publish on Google Play (each, the “App”), together with the account, study-plan, quiz, coding-practice and voice role-play features inside them. It applies to every App we publish unless that App’s store listing links to a different privacy policy.
Where an App connects to our web service, that service stores data on our own infrastructure and only under the terms of this policy.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you give us
- Account information — your email address and a password when you create an account or sign in. Passwords are stored only as a salted, one-way hash (scrypt); we never store or can read your plain password.
- Optional profile details — your name, phone number and address, if you choose to enter them under Profile. They are optional; the App works without them.
- Learning content you create — the subjects or role-path you ask us to prepare, the questions you answer, flashcard and coding-problem activity, and your quiz, coding and role-play scores.
- Voice role-play input — if you use the optional microphone button in role-play mode, your spoken answer is converted to text so it can be evaluated. See §3.4 for how this works and how to turn it off.
- Support messages — anything you send us by email.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Session and device information — a session token and a short device label (derived from your device’s user-agent string) so your account can stay signed in and you can see and revoke your active sessions.
- Technical logs — like most web services, our servers record standard request information (IP address, timestamp, requested path, response status) in access logs for security and troubleshooting.
3.3 Information we do not collect
We do not collect, request or use any of the following:
- Precise or approximate location
- Contacts, call logs, SMS or calendar data
- Photos, videos or files from your device
- Advertising identifiers, and we do not show ads or run advertising SDKs
- Health, fitness or biometric data
- Payment card details (any future in-app purchase is handled entirely by Google Play — see §7)
3.4 Microphone and voice features
Voice role-play is optional and is only active while you hold the microphone button. Speech is converted to text using the speech-recognition service available on your device (on Android, this is Google’s speech-recognition service, and your device’s own settings and Google’s privacy policy govern that processing). We do not record, store or transmit audio files. What reaches us — and is stored as part of your role-play history — is the resulting text transcript and the score. You can use role-play entirely by typing instead, in which case no microphone permission is used.
4. How we use your information
| Why | What we use |
|---|---|
| Create and secure your account, keep you signed in, revoke sessions | Email, password hash, session token, device label |
| Generate study plans, quizzes, flashcards, notes and coding problems for the subject you asked for | Subject text and learning activity |
| Show your progress, recent topics, history and scores | Learning activity, account ID |
| Evaluate role-play answers and produce your feedback score | Role-play transcript text |
| Run the code you submit in coding practice and return the output | Your submitted code and chosen language |
| Keep the service working and secure (rate limits, abuse and fault investigation) | Technical logs, IP address |
| Answer your support requests | Your message and account email |
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use your content to train our own or anyone else’s machine-learning models beyond generating the study material you requested.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the App and your account), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, service reliability), your consent (microphone access, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings), and legal obligation where applicable.
6. Service providers and when we share information
We share personal information only with the providers needed to run the App, and only as described below:
- AI content provider. Generating study material and evaluating role-play answers requires sending text prompts to a third-party large-language-model provider, which processes them to return a result. Prompts contain the subject you typed, the study content being generated, and — for role-play — your answers as text. They do not include your password or email address.
- Google Play. Distribution, installs, app updates and any future in-app purchases are handled by Google under Google’s own privacy policy.
- Device speech-recognition service (Android/Google), only if you use the microphone (§3.4).
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure provider. Our servers and database, which store the data described above, are operated by a third-party hosting provider on our behalf.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety or security of our users or of the service.
We do not otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties.
7. In-app purchases
If an App offers paid features, the purchase is processed by Google Play Billing. We receive only the confirmation of purchase and a purchase token — never your card or bank details. Google’s handling of your payment data is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
8. International transfers
Our service providers, including our AI provider, may process information in countries other than the one you live in. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it continues to receive an adequate level of protection consistent with this policy and applicable law.
9. How long we keep it
- Account and learning data — until you delete your account. Deletion from the app is immediate and permanent (§10).
- Server access logs — kept for a short period for security purposes, then discarded (normally within 30 days).
- Voice audio — never stored by us.
- Support emails — kept while your request is open and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping.
10. Your rights and choices
- Access and portability — use Settings → Data → Export in the App to download a JSON copy of your data.
- Correction — edit your name, phone and address under Profile; change your email or password under Settings.
- Deletion — delete your account from Settings → Data → Delete account inside the App, or follow the steps on our Delete account page. No request to us by email is needed.
- Session control — see and revoke individual signed-in devices under Settings → Sessions.
- Microphone — turn off the microphone permission in your device settings at any time; role-play continues to work by typing.
- Complaints — you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (in India, the Data Protection Board of India).
We respond to privacy requests sent to skmudassir.it@gmail.com within 30 days.
11. Security
Passwords are hashed with scrypt and never stored in readable form. All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Sessions use opaque random tokens rather than reusable passwords and can be revoked at any time. Access to production systems is limited to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take these measures to protect your information.
12. Children
The App is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at younger children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or from a minor where local law requires verifiable parental consent (for example, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at skmudassir.it@gmail.com and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be signalled in the App or in the store listing before they take effect. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
